Cemetery Gates by The Smiths

Always loved the fact that it's a really happy sounding song, but it's titled Cemetery Gates, which would make ya think the opposite.

and from my days in middle school...

Pretty much any song that's just starting to played on the radio at this time of year (Winter/Christmas)

Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas
John Lennon - Happy Christmas (War Is Over)
Paul Macca - Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time

there's a few summery ones too.

James Brown - I Feel Good
Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Day He Didn't Die
No Doubt - Spiderwebs
Ocean Colour Scene - They Day We Caught The Train
Stevie Wonder - Isn't She Lovely
Will Smith - Just The Two Of Us

there are quite a few more. but those are the first that come to mind.

EDIT: how could I forget. the 'nicest' song of all time, without a shadow of a doubt!:

Thin Lizzy - Dancing In The Moonlight

always makes me smile

Pretty much any track off Paul Simon's "Graceland" album. It's ridiculously upbeat, imo, even "The Boy In The Bubble" and "Homeless" will put a smile on your face!

As it happens, I'm actually going to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo next Tuesday!

Pretty ironic since the song is about a failed relationship.

The happiest song has to be "The Happy Happy Joy Joy Song" from Ren and Stimpy.

yup. gotta love ska for themes like that.

Reel Big Fish's 'Everything Sucks' is, lyrically, a real bummer.

It still cheers me up to hear though

James Taylor's version of "How sweet it is to be loved by you"

Up and Running, the first song on Bela Fleck Tales form the Acoustic Planet. In fact the whole album makes me so happy! All instrumental.
