My band suggested we do "Josie" by Steely Dan, and having heard the song many times, I figured I already knew it well enough. However, when we did a dry run, I stumbled all over my bass, and felt like an idiot. Well, I ended up spending an entire afternoon listening, playing along, re-listening, more playing along, and so on, before I felt comfortable playing it with the band. Technicially, it's not that difficult a song, but it was more gratifying to learn "Josie" than with many other songs.
I'm curious what have been some of your hardest "easy" songs (those you thought you'd know without actually learning)?
