Not really sure what you're asking, however, I'll throw in my .02 about L&M:

They really stretched out live, somewhat forraying into the "jam" realm back in the 70s. I have a couple of bootlegs of their shows and those are some amazing performances. If ou can put aside your distaste for Loggins solo, L&M will really open your eyes.

Extended live versions of Angry Eyes and Vahevala are mind-blowing.

They toured in the mid-70s using one of my all-time back-up bands, the L.A. Express.

Yeah i've heard that some of there live shows turned into
jamfest especially the tunes mentioned.

My question is more to the quality of there first two
recordings 1.Sittin In 2.self titled, Loggins and Messina
the mix of acoustic inst, elect, vox, harmonies,i've not heard
to this day a recording that equals that mix.

I always loved George Hawkins playing on those songs! George is still doing the road warrior thing with John Fogerty, great player!

Last weekend, I was scrolling through & hit our local Classic Rock radio station...a 'jazzy jam' was going on & I thought "*** is this"?
Turned out it was a live version of "Angry Eyes".
...and it was great. Now I'm trying to figure out what live record it was from.

Joni Mitchell, too. Miles Of Aisles is the recording.
