So what songs can you just not help but headbang to?
for me, it's Anthem by Rush. The message isn't my favorite ("Live for yourself, there's no one else worth living for....bleeding hearts and begging hands will just cry out for more" etc.), but there is just something about Geddy's Pure, unadulterated rock screaming of "Wonders in the world they wrouuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhhttttt!!!!!!!" ,
Cult of Personality by Living Color. One of the most heavy riffs of all time,
Paranoid by Black Sabbath. Again, heavy riffs and killer chops,
Etc. So what are yours?

I love the Budgie original too, but Metallica's cover just makes we want to get pumped and break stuff. In a good way

| | | | How about Quiet Riot's "Bang your head"? Head banging is implied in the title... |

Additionally I could name at least 20 songs off the top of my head. Limiting myself, I'd say Solitude by Candlemass and Lack Of Comprehension by Death are a couple.

But for me, I immediately go into wide-grinning-headbanging-furious-air-drumming mode when I see/hear this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7Phj_FTugY
Not the most original choice maybe, but it's a great song, totally killer tight band/performance, and that audience is about as excited a crowd gets! |

But in the past six months I've really gotten into one band that does the trick right away, every time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZEPiZbYcRo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRtB_tw_kCc
(Also pretty much all the stuff Joe Gress mentioned works on me as well.)
