Alright. A first for me. Below I'm presenting my playing in two totally different situations. The first is with my girlfriend's band, playing three original tunes. Tasteful, soulful and kinda slick. The second one is with a virtuoso guitarist friend I met in school. Kinda rough mix between funk and hard rock. There's three songs in the site, but I only play the first two; Feel and Funk the Fakes.
So. let me know what you think. I'm using my '62 reissue jazz bass on everything. And I recorded direct, with no EQ choices available. So a bit rough sounding at times, but pretty close to my sound. It's all in the fingers, remember.

| | | | Thanks man. I was starting to think no one was going to listen. Yeah, the funk band stuff sure is taxing on the chops. I'm not overly pleased with how slapping on "Funk the fake" turned out. But since it was an overall good take I decided to stick with it.
Keep the feedback coming guys. It's what makes us all better at what we do. Plus, it's fun when people listen to what you do.

You guys all seem to have some real nice chops, especially in the unison lines. Personally I think your slap line would sound a whole lot better clean, the envelope makes it too muddy. |

like the organ too
+1 about the envelope filter, it prob would be better clean

The Joke & the Jokers is very cool too. It's like King's X meets the Chili Peppers!
I like it all. Good work!
Just curious, if you are in Sweden, why is the singing in English? |

Just curious, if you are in Sweden, why is the singing in English? | Thanks man. Nice comments. Just to clarify; I am indeed from Sweden. But in Sweden english lyrics have been the way to go since the 60's. And at least 80% of the bands here write in english excusively. This is, in no small part, due to us being a tiny country. There lives about 9 million people here and swedish (although similar to danish and norweigian) is only spoken in Sweden and parts of Finland. Not a whole lot of people to reach out to compared to the US. But when singing in english; all of sudden your music is accessible to almost the entire world. The international scene is about the only place to turn to.
Now this situation holds true for the most of Europe except for mainly the UK, France and Germany which have populations big enough support their own music, in their own language.
So I hope that answers your question. It's also extremely tough to write something that sounds cool in swedish. English is vastly better singing language.

Gotta love Sweden! They gave us the talents of Daniel Alfredsson. Well, more like borrowed... |

| | | | Thanks to all of you. I had no idea you'd be this encouraging. And thanks for noticing "Afraid to lose you". That's all me. She just said she wanted a disco vibe and that line came to me instantly.
