I'm just curious to hear which recording is everyone's favorite, Marvin Gaye's or Gladys Knight's? Personally I like Gladys Knight's recording the best, it grooves like hell and kicks like a mule, plus she has so much soul in that recording that I think my eyes just about popped out the first time I heard it.

While I do like MG's version becasue the bass is sooooo deep, I really love GK&TP's version much better. Just so funk'ay, James is tearin' it up.

I love the Gladys and the Pips version. The bass line's great and the whole song is really hoppin'. Marvin's isn't bad, but I don't enjoy it nearly as much.

While I really like the Gladys Knight version, I like the version done by Metro the best.

Bill Frisell plays a killing Grapevine on his Live East/West record with Viktor Krauss on bass.
I also prefer Glady's version to Marvin's.
