| | bassist for staind | | | | | nice job ! tell the singer not to look over if someone makes a boo boo. (like when the guitar kinda missed the first note of the solo) pretend everything is cool.

Fritz turns to his left during the guitar solo, but the soloist is to his right; but I know what you mean. |

Do you guys do any Marillion? Your singer could nail their singers sound.

Yes, lowend - we have a tendency to rush things sometimes - thank you for reminding me. Maybe I should bring a metronome onstage!
Hi William! Hit me up on facebook (I will try to find you); it's always nice to see COS folks on Talkbass.
@Bassgen - I will have to check out some stuff from Marillion - thanks! |

I used to live in the Springs. Damn I miss it there! |

welll, at times he sounds like early Cornell I guess, but more like Plant. I can see where he could do justice to some of Cornell's tunes though - rare to say that.
Good job at one of JPJ's tastier lines man!
And I agree, it sounds a bit rushed.

The only "constructive criticism" I would give is to listen closely to the duration of the notes. I think JPJ holds the notes longer than you do on that descending run that happens in the verse (begins with G#, F#, E, C#...). To use classical terminology - he plays the line legato while you play it more staccato. It creates a more relaxed feeling when you make the notes longer rather than shorter.
Again, very good job.

I think some of us in the band were pushing the tempo a bit, which may explain the staccato notes.
talkbass is great! |

| | | | Good Job! I've played this one in different bands before and it's pretty common for guitar players to start it off too fast. Other than that my only critique would be the mix. This song is all about the BASS! Turn it up! |
