Hey, my band just got one of our tracks back from the studio. We recorded a short demo at McNally Smith college of music (where my guitarist goes.) Anyway, the track is a cover, "I don't need no doctor". It currently does not have vocals, so ignore the extended drumbeat in the middle (it's a vocal solo of sorts, for those who don't know the song).

Anyway, I could use some constructive criticism on my playing. The two videos on our page are two of our originals.

The bass on the recording is a five string SX Jazz with stock pickups, the bass in the videos is a Raven four string which I no longer have.

Thanks for any input!

It's nice but I think you could benefit from loosening up a tad bit; I personally want it to- I dunno, be a little less clean, y'know? I hope that helps.

I thought it was fine for the music......it's blues..... as long as you don't overplay and you hold down the pocket is good! And you didn't and you did .......so ....... good.

Sounded loose enough, tends towards the funk side but hey that works fine

Nice playin', man. I enjoyed it. The only thing I would suggest is that you even out your attack a bit. Sometimes it sounds like you're finger pickin' and other times it sounds like you're using a pick and maybe picking just a little too hard. Keep up the good work, and good luck.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I just want to note that vocals have been added to "I Don't Need No Doctor", so check it out and tell me what you think of the band as a whole.

I rate you a 14 on a scale of yellow to cucumber.

Which means it's pretty good! I like the singer in "I Don't Need No Doctor"

Cool! It was expressive, showed a little technical prowess and musicality, and it sat in the mix like a 4 year old in a sandbox....

I like the part where the dude in the chicken suit goes into McDonald's and orders an egg mcmuffin!

CLASSIC!
