Hey All,

I just heard "Have You Ever" by Incubus, on Pandora...damn, that bass roars. Are there any Incubus bass nerds out there who have a clue as to how Dirk or Ben got/get this tone?

Thanks,

Ben

Dirk had a pretty complex live rig that included an sansamp PSA-1 and midi controller which could have been what he used for that tone in the studio. There is an info graphic that pops up in a google search but I can't seem to get the image to come up. There is this website that details his setup, but it's in Portuguese. The pictures are clear though.

Also this picture from the morning view sessions shows him with what appears to be the midi-controller he used in front of his monitor for rehearsals, so that's probably what he was using during at least writing and pre-pro, if not all the way through.
