hey all,

Just wondering -- what do I need to record at home, on my computer? How do I get my music into my computer is my big question, and after that, is there a cheap way to mix and edit that music?

Look through all the threads (especially the stickies) in the forum below this one, Recording Gear. Should have everything you need!

Buy this cable to connect a mixer to your computer's aux input and pick one of the mini-mixers below the cable on the same page.

Dowload Audacity version 1.2.6 for free.

This is the cheapest way to get started as far as I know.

You can spend big bucks on interfaces and software later.

^ Listen to Joe.

My band is recording with a Roland TD-6SXT, Line6 POD, and Line6 Bass POD with a Presonus Firepod, with Firewire into my Mac (came with Garageband) for multi-tracking, or alternatively, with a line-out to my Zoom H2 (for recording band rehearsals). Work superbly both ways.
