Home recording, Geddy thru Peavey combo

Sign in to disble this ad
This is what i'm getting for tone playing my Geddy Lee jazz stock pickups through an old Peavey combo 300 as a head and a Avitar single 15. The band is Lemming PI and I recorded using my laptop, cakewalk sonar and a m-audio usb duo.
We just placed mics in the room and went for it.
There are some screwing up but the reason for the post is the is so people can here single coils through an old Peavey combo.

feel free to post comments or ask questions about the recording method.

edit: This was my first go at home recording with condenser mics, so I have alot of mic placement methods to learn. Plan is that if everything sounds cool we will do separate tracks.

It sounds pretty good.

For what I would do, a little too treble-y, I like some smoothness in my tone.

I am very guilty of being a treble kranker, I will try shutting the horn off in my cab next go around.
