Now, I'm really not good at categorizing bands, but I'm sure if Honeyeyes were to be placed in a genre, it would be alternative rock. But, myself, when I think of alternative rock, I tend to think of a lack of musical depth. There is almost an orchestra quality to a lot of the tracks off this album in terms of movement and melodic activity... very epic.

There is a very nice dynamic quality to this album. A few hard rockers here and there (Hidden Agenda and Possesion for example), to synthy/dreamy ballads (Walk away: Some slick fretless bass Ron). But also there is dynamic movement throughout the songs, a lot of bands like Honeyeyes tend to lack that.

Musicianship on everyone's end is top notch, like most alt rock bands, the band is very supportive of the front man (or woman in this case) giving it a pop friendly vibe, but Honeyeyes manage to do that without coming off as total musical slouches. A whole lot of polyphonic action going almost at all times without being cluttered at all.

I like how they worked out the track orders, my favorite tracks are the first and last: Cover Me (a great start, instantly got my attention) and it ends with the very hypnotic Road Kill. The super tight bass and drum groove with swirly synths, now you're speaking my language!

I see them having a wide range of appeal, they have a hip type of sound (well, I have no idea what's hip, but I could see this being played on the radio), but enough musical/compositional maturity to have people re-listening to their album. I definitely recommend checking them out.
