You are doing pretty good. Watch your right hand though - you should consequently use 2 fingers instead of one.

In Moby Dick you've got a wrong note in there. Hard to explain - it's the "second set" of notes - when you first change strings. It's a whole step, but it seems that you are playing a half step. Just give a careful listen to the song again without your bass and you'll know what I mean.

Other than the tuning, sounds good. On "Hey Hey" your tuning makes it pretty unlistenable. But the playing sounds good. Timing/note consistancy seems good, and that's the hardest thing getting started.

now what's wrong with the tuning on hey hey what can you do?

I tuned this thing standard right before I played .. the song is tuned e flat, a flat .. etc ... but that's still the key i'm playing although the bass is tuned standard.

That's a good reason to sound out of tune.

Pretty good. Do you play any other instruments?

oh and don't worry TOO much about the alternating finger thing. One finger works fine for Geddy.

Yea, hey hey what can i do is definitely out of tune. Or you're not playing the right notes. Need a little work on timing too, you're in time but not in the pocket. Other than that it sounds good man, keep at it!

yeah, all sounds pretty good, but id agree with the tuning comments...anyway, im sure you've heard that more than enough for now . id suggest maybe a few easier tunes though if you've been playing for 3 months. i know your probably excited and want to post something cool for you tube, but technique doesn't come over night and you need to work on your right hand maybe a few tunes with some walking ideas on the right hand ...but, hey!!! enthusiasms not a crime...keep up the good work

btw, do you play in a band or with other guys? playing with a group or just jamming will bring your playing forward leaps and bounds

i played live with a band about a month ago .. they're back around this upcoming weekend and am gonna sit in for a few tunes.

I wonder if the intonation is screwed up? Because I tuned the thing right before I played those.. i know i was off on moby dick playing the major instead of the minor .. i realized that ..

don't play any other instruments anymore .. but I grew up playing piano from 6-12 .. and horns from 12 - 18 (trombone, baritone, bass trombone, and tuba) ..
