I would really like to be able to recreate this tone. It sounds like a pick? but is there a stomp box/ setting that can help me get close to that awesome tone.

That, is quite a nice tone isn't it. To me it sounds like light gauge strings with some chorus and a low cut. I'm no expert on tone though, that's just what it sounds like to me... Oh, and defo played with a plectrum!!!
