How do you make the bass pop from a bass lacking live recording?

Yo, I have some great recordings from one of our shows but the bass is sound very low. The recording was from the house board into a digital interface onto their computer. When I picked it up they played bits of our show through the house stereo and the bass sounded great, however, on my car speakers, home speakers, three different pair of headphones the bass is pretty low.

Any suggestions on how to eq the bass to be more audible in the mix. Compression is helping to some degree but I don't want to compress to much.

Thanks,

Chis

Mess with the EQ bands from <100Hz to about 800Hz.

problem is, to boost the bass you will also be boosting the kick drum and lows from the guitar and it will sound too warm and the bass guitar will probably still be lost. try boosting 100 hz, hopefully most of the kick drums low end is below that, and the lows from the guitar above it so you may have a chance.
