Describe the bass sound.

Does it sound bad? cheap? good? deep, shallow, mild, warm, fuzzy etc etc.

The quality of recording isn't very good, but the bass sounds to have a good punch to it, and gets a nice growl at times. However, it will sound different to everybody listening depending on their computer speakers. I'm using a reasonably decent system that has a sub, and the bass doesn't sound bad to me at all.

Awesome! Hehe.

I so appreciate your answer dude...

So, if you could change something, if you could add something to the bass sound to fit your taste. What would you add?

Oh, and it`s a zoom H2 that records right next to tha bass gear - so not infront of the pa or infront of the cabs. And of course, it`s not a studio recording. Just live.

Edit: with computer speakers I don`t hear so much of the bass.

Sounds OK... nothing special or unique, but it doesn't suck or anything.

Not being able to hear it in person, I can give no valid advice. What I hear through my computer speakers is likely different that what you are hearing through yours. I can use the eq for my speakers to change the way it sounds easily.

Just so you understand what I'm trying to say, when I first listened to your song I had the bass on the eq boosted a bit on my computer speakers. Through the speakers and sub, your bass had a nice punch and growl. If I take all the eq on the speakers down to flat, the whole recording, not just the bass, sounds dull and lifeless.

Hehe, warwicks are nice, specially the infinity I think. Hmm, well, I`ll tell you my gear, but right now i`m just interested in what you think of the sound, and what you would add/substract to make it sound better for you.

It will be interesting if your thoughts of the sound/quality could somehow relate to the gear I am using. Just a theory i`m working on.

Edit: but of course, the recording gear and the recording setup could change the live sound in the process, so it might actually sound different live.

Interesting,

so basicly dull and lifeless eh? Hmmm. Anyone has other opinions?

To me it sounds perfect for the music. I don't think you could dial in a better blues bass tone. But, i wouldn't venture an inch from the blues with it.

Thank you,

Do you think it sounds like a p-bass or more jazz-bass or similar to other basses you`ve tried?

Only because I eq'd my speakers that way. When I bump the bass on the eq on my computer speakers, I think your tone sounds pretty darn good!

I think you are misunderstanding. I'm just trying to get across that unless we can hear it in person, we are not going to be able to give an accurate piece of advice on what you should or shouldn't do. Hearing through a recording like this sounds different to every single person listening to it on a different computer, with different speakers, eq'd a different way.

definitely closer to a P Bass. Jazz basses tend to have more of an edge to their sound.

Really? That's not the way I heard it. It sounded very modern to me, with a jazz like sound to it. It sounded like there was a slight favoring of the bridge pickup with a touch of lows added.
