Very 'Meters' like funky. On a scale of 1-10? 8.5-9. Pretty funky......and I know funk!

All of the above.

Looking forward to hearing this, my work firewall won't let it in.

I would have to say that a 10 in the funk-o-meter would either make me spontaneously dance, cry or speak in tongues. These are extremely rare occurrences.

I really liked your groove though.

now the trick is going to be getting my guitarist to play like that.. itll never happen.

i cant get anyone to funk with me, at best me and the drummer will be getting nasty, while the guitarist just solos over it..and doesent play like the demo i made..wich is why i made the demo, to show him what kind of thing to do.

if it works and i get a decent take of it i'll post and see if i can get anyone to spontaneously dance, and/or speak in toungues, wich would be stupid funky..

Funkin' like Rocco, David Dyson, Me'Shell, Alex Al, Nate Phillips, etc. gets one a 10 on the "Funk-O-Meter"! These cats not only play funky, they 'speak' it, IMO!

my 2 cents...

Nice groove.... Were you one of my students, I'd tell you work on 'hanging back' a bit on the notes. Just a touch farther back on the notes and maybe a few more spaces (I'm a big fan of spaces between notes)

I'll give you an 8.5 overall rating. But I'll give you the extra 1.5 for the full 10 because the first time I listened I starting jamming along with it without even realizing it. (that's right I surf talkbass with my bass in my lap)

Nice groove! Good playing there. I agree that a few things seemed a little rushed (or maybe just on top of the beat), but I attributed that more to the drummer's right (ride) hand than anything you were doing.

Aaah, why did you do that with the phase‽ Does that make it funkier?
