How to get this tone?

I'm guessing it's a P bass simply because it's Paul Jackson, after that in terms of amp or EQ I'm stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Wow, that is FUNKY!
Doesn't sound like Paul Jackson's Precision at all...
But the playing certainly sounds like him.

I could be completely wrong, but this sounds like a humbucker to me...

There's some sizzle (almost modern scooped in there). I would say it's not a P as a P couldn't acheive those sizzly highs.

I'm betting it's a Stingray.

Yeah some of you seem to know these things better than me, i shouldn't automatically assume it's a P...
Maybe a stingray with flats?
Thanks for the input guys

No flats. They sound lke bright nickels rounds or stainless rounds. They have a bright edge to them.

Ah, thank you narud. BTW the tracks on your myspace are killer! I think my favorite is warning.

On topic, it seems like I won't be able to cop this tone with my P after all, so thanks for the suggestions/input!

That's a stingray if I've ever heard one.
