How Insensitive (Insensatez) - Solo Acoustic Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Yet another youtube video. This is the latest that I've been working on. The whole 'solo jazz guitarist' approach, playing chord melodies and such. This bass is perfect for it, and it's my ultimate goal as a musician right now. Still has a long ways to go, but I think this is a good start:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5wN1IX4w7Q

Played on my Kinal 6-String Acoustic Bass. Recorded with a blend of the piezos and a mic'd signal. Gotta find a better way to mic it...keeps getting in the way of my fretting hand there

Enjoy and let me know what you think

Thumbs up

Frikkin' great!

And that means something if it comes from me, cause I'm like, super awesome and junk.

PS- I'd kill for your left hand.

Really great. I love it when contrabasses are played that way (even if they are tuned E-F).

How does that Kinal sound against an acoustic guitar?

It's actually tuned C#F#BEAD (Like a standard 6-string up a whole step)

It sounds good with an acoustic guitar. I haven't played it live yet, but I should have some acoustic gigs coming up in a month or two. So we'll see

Wow, very cool. I love it when I see bassists playing standards all by themselves.

+1 - you have great ears and taste as well as hands - but it's mainly in the mind I guess - all good man - what's best is you have your own way of doing things and that way you are developing your own 'voice' - follow your instincts and play what you love and you'll do just great. Which you are already - but hey - like me and the rest of us, I'm sure you want to 'improve' still?
