Exclamation

it's so cool that it's going to rock its way over to miscellaneous, where musical topics are discussed.

in fact, i bet ole' Big W himself will probably send it a'packin' over to recordings.

that's a rockin' tune, right there.

But if you can hum a few bars...

Yeah, ole' BW himself probably would, except for the fact that I beat him to it.

Ditto. It is still on all the time, and my room mate plays it all the time. He thinks it is the greatest bass line ever. I think it is OK and takes about 5 minutes to figure out most of it.

it's not about the complexity of the song, it how it sounds in the end

I think it's good, if it were shortened about 3 minutes. But since it takes forever to end, I think it's repetitive and annoying.

How many people knew what a schism was BEFORE the song came out?

More educational than School House Rock, I tell you. ( "Conjunction junction what's your function..." vs. "I know the pieces FIT" )

Granted I just read about an example of one in school when covering the Byzantine Empire (the schism resulting in an Orthodox and Catholic church).

How is schism pronounced? is it si-zum or ski-zum (with "i" as in "it")?

I have a large gap in my knowledge...what IS a schism?

pronounced with skism. like school, but without an ool, and with an ism.

On the Brendanometer it gets a "Pretty Good"

What is the Brendanometer you ask? (From lowest to highest)

Limp Biskit
Smashing Pumpkins
Rage
Eh
It's Ok
Cool
Good.
Pretty Good
Awesome.
Freakin Awsome
Rules
Frikkin Rules (Frikkin is VERY different than Freakin)
One Man Mosh Pit (Very few songs get here)

It's a good song but I'm getting tired of it. I think my favorite songs off Lateralus are The Grudge, Parabola and Ticks & Leeches.

A "schism" is like a division or seperation or something like that, I looked it up after I heard the song.

I hate the song now, it bugs the hell out of me.

Don't get my wrong, while Tool is not my cup of tea I think they are a great band. Every thing about this song and others I have heard buy them works really well but I have just grown tired of the amount that I hear this one song.

Plus the video wasn't as shocking as I had hoped it would be. I was looking for a "stinkfist 2" sorta approach, although that thing where they got on all 4's and started shaking their heads was pretty weird/cool. You should try it at home.
