How much should I be getting payed?

So these guys want me to do live instruments for them tomorrow. I don't know how many tracks we'll cut or whatever. Actually, I could even just be trying out for them before anything--I've never played for them, just contacted them through Myspace. Infact, I've never even brought up the money thing--I asked them if they were looking for live instrumentalists. If all goes as planned, I'll be doing at least ONE song on the bass (maybe guitar too)--how much should I be getting paid for this? I'm pretty sure there'll be no contracts or whatever, it should just be a straight up cash amount and that's it. I know they've done tracks with pretty well known rappers (they're a hip-hop group, by the way) and I remember once about a year ago they told me that it cost like $11,000 for one of the rappers.

I meet up with them at the multi-million dollar studio tomorrow afternoon. How should I bring up the money thing? How much should I be getting paid? Please help, thanks.

You know, it'd be great if I got paid, but even if I didn't...I still want that experience of doing it. I'm sure I could even talk them into letting me intern if I supply live instruments. Afterall I do want to work in a studio eventually

If you haven't talked about the details, you probably won't be getting paid. You'll probably get credit for recording your part, which can open up doors and pay in the future.

It doesn't hurt to bring it up. Let us know what happens.
