I am curious to see just how much difference in price their was between all of our purchases of this album. I got mine at best buy for $ 11.99 and with NY tax it came out to $13.02 , I thought this was a great price for a double disc album.

Looks like I'm going to have to hit the Best Buy tomorrow.
Any initial thoughts on the album?

Repeated listening is the key. I like the album overall. Actually, I found that the funkier tracks were the weakest. There are some very catchy songs. The album reminds me of why John is one of my favourite guitarists (if not my favourite).

I tottaly agree when people say it takes a few listens to digest what you are hearing, 28 songs is alot so give it some time.

The smashing pumpkins got a lot of skepticism when they let out Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. It turned out to be one of the best selling double albums.

I like the album overall. it's pretty good. I equate the career of the chili peppers to that of incubus. Some people don't like where they are going. Some people do. I like to see musical change.

$19.99 cdn, the cheepest that I have seen it. I loved it from the first listen, and I keep finding new reasons to love it more. This album makes me say that John is the BEST guitarist. Not just my favortite, but the BEST. He is so versitile and creative, no one right now in music can touch him.

Yeah, yeah, so I'm a little late to the party...

$11.99 and worth every penny

I just don't think I can justify being a fan of their current stuff. Each of the last three albums (prior to this one) had progressively fewer tracks that I could really get in to. Now, I'm having a hard time finding one. Oh well.

I dunno, my daughter got it for me for Father's Day!

After listening to it, so much of it sounds the same, IMHO. Dont get me wrong, they playing is good, but its just very cookie cutter, IMHO.
