I love that bass. Your tone is nice too compared to some of the other videos on YouTube up from that song. |

Shouldn't it go somewhere else like " Recordings" or " Technique"?

But really wonderful otherwise. Love the technique.
How old are you?

aghhhhhh | I think you're the one who doesn't know anything musically, if you weren't an ignorant fool you would check out Cliff Burton right now and then maybe you would understand, take this as a warning, either delete your thread before you get flamed or read up a little before posting. |

unfortunately, my cable adaptor is bad, but meaby in the next couple of days i might upload something.
and theres no need to be sarcastic, as most of you express your opinions i'd like to do it so.
greetings | Show me a recording of you playing bass right now, until then, you're still worse than he is in which you have no right to say hes a crappy bass player. |

"Clifford Lee Burton (February 10, 1962 – September 27, 1986) was a bass guitarist, best known for his work with the heavy metal band Metallica from 1982-86. He was killed in a bus accident in Sweden, 1986 while touring with Metallica.
[He] inspired many songs from bands including Megadeth ("In My Darkest Hour") and Primus, as well as bassists such as Billy Sheehan, Les Claypool and John Myung."
Um..Billy Sheehan, Les Claypool and John Myung. Wow, those are some heavyweight bass greats, and THEY found inspiration from Cliff. Hmmm, kinda makes you think, huh?
"A classically trained pianist, Burton used his large knowledge of theory to add to the band's sound, both through his bass work and teaching James how to theorize and harmonize."
Please be knowledgeable before shooting your mouth off. Thank you.
Signed,

The poor recording quality of the camera's microphone muddies up a lot of your playing, but you can still tell that you have a good tone.
Keeping working on it to smooth it out rhythmically, but otherwise I thought it was solid performance.

who cares? i think the kid played nice
and you know what there are better bassists out there but he didnt ask to be compared to other bassists he asked us to critique his performance....as far as from watching the other RHCP songs just the need to tighten up some sloppiness and to let the basslines breathe in some parts
for example the beginning of Cant Stop ...all the notes are there
but it comes across a little sterile a little too clean if that makes sense
there are parts where Flea lets the note ring a little and add more color and flavor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQ0O_...elated&search=
I think he pulled "Around the World" alot better
the fuzz sounds close and the lines have more feeling

| | | | Nice solo! Your tone is very good, you come quite close to Cliff's tone, good job on that. You need to work on timing and speed a bit more however. You're not as fast all the time, you slow down on a few parts, and your timing isnt perfect, but keep at it you'll have it down in no time. |

p.s, im not a huge metalica fan, but i appreciate ther talent |

Just practise your timing so it sounds smoother, and I would use a little less distortion/fuzz in the sound, so the notes are clearer. |

I recently started a thread on bass neck measurements and aside from many thoughtful posts, It blew up from there with immature childish remarks! Even the moderator felt he had to add to my poll! We'd better watch out guys because the casual observer will check out these threads and be turned off! this forum has really fallen off the last few months! But, as far as bass forums go, I'ts still ONE of the best we have! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
