hey well it seems good. it is solid playing but i was hoping for something spicy. You know lick some licks. It is hard to see but I think ur playing in e minor. So when the chord progression is solid(the listener knows what the next note is gonna be) add an Eminor lick in and be creative. E minor is (E, #F, G, A, B, C, D, E) try it out it might help.

I would work on your timing a little bit. I think it is a pretty common tendency for people to not sustain their notes quite long enough in an effort to make it to their next note in time. Also your playing feels a bit mechanical - try to loosen up a bit, get into a groove... once you know the song, focus more on what the other guys are playing and let your brain do the rest.

Additionally, I agree with the poster above me.. you need to spice it up a bit more. Typically when I work on a song with my band I play a simple bass line that matches the rhythm chords. This gets me comfortable with the song structure, and I will always have something simple to fall back on. This is where you are right now. The next thing I do is to start thinking about how I can make it exciting. Often this comes in the form of me thinking of how it should sound in my head, then trying to play what I hear. I usually stumble on something that sounds even better in the course of doing so. For that song, I would probably throw in alot of downward scale runs and little fills. To increase excitement toward the end of the song you could work the fretboard in the opposite direction from the guitar player (he is playing up the neck and you are playing down).

Overall, good effort. Keep it up!
