If you don't like this album, you don't like rock. Period.

Some of those songs were even longer at the shows./ * little know fact* there is a bit of cut & splice on that album done by Eddie Kramer.

That is a really good album. Smokin' is my favoriite Humble Pie album though; in fact Smokin' is high on my all-time favorite list. They got a really good bass sound on that album (Smokin').

Greg Ridley was an influence on me. 4 day creep, I'm ready, Stone cold fever--all classics! Great album--Smokin' too!

One of my first 8 tracks was Smokin'. Got ate by the player in my '71 Pontiac Lemans Sport back in the mid-seventies.

Caught them twice, back? well..way back. Great live shows. Once at the Action House, then when they opened for Grand Funk at Shea. They don't make bands like that anymore, rock and soul true blue.

This came out during my formative years, and I couldn't get enough of it. These guys and Grand Funk were nearly always trashed by the critics, though. But I didn't care. Both bands played high energy rock that I was really into.

A few years later, Frampton LIVE eclipsed any previous live rock album in terms of popularity. And it rocked too!

Do I get extra points for having the original vinyl recording... and having it on the turntable in the last 30 days?

I think Humble Pie was the 3rd or 4th concert I ever saw. 40 or so years ago and still one of my favorites.

Major Humble Pie/Greg Ridley fan here. The bass work on "Thirty Days in the Hole" was a big "aha" moment for me.

Right up there with Live at Leeds in my book. Frampton was nice enough to sign my copy of Rockin' the Fillmore.

I'm a bit late to the party, but as a huge prog-head growing up, the Pie were my favorite non-prog band.

I loved the three-way vocal tradeoffs on the early albums, with Steve, Greg and Peter each handling a line of a verse or chorus.

It's too bad Steve and Greg are no longer with us and didn't get a chance to record together again although Greg did get back with Peter, Clem and Jerry for a few reunion shows.

Anyone pick up the "Scrubbers Sessions" album that came out in the 90's? It was supposed to be released after "Thunderbox" but the record company rejected it and they went back and started from scratch and did "Street Rats" instead. Some mighty eclectic stuff on this release.
