Hey..
Im quite lost when it comes to blues artists.. The only two i know is pretty much Baba Blues and Muddy Waters. :P
Sure there is some blues with Jimi Hendrix and so on but im talking about pure blues.
Educate me in some nice blues (with a nice bass is a +).

You have two basic styles, delta blues and electric or chicago blues. I don't have a Ph.D. in it but off-hand I know Willie Dixon, Howlin Wolf, Willie McTell, Robert Johnson, Eric Johnson, Son House, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bo Didley, BB King, ZZ Top, and who knows how many others. My favorite was always the old delta blues - really raw sound and most songs sound the same but you could hear/feel that it was real.

Clapton has some good blues, John Mayall, Jeff Strahan, Nighthawks, Jimmy Thackery, Muddy Waters, BUDDY GUY, and numerous others.

If you ipod, go to the itunes store and enter blues and you will listen for a while.

Little Walter first and foremost...
Little Milton, Luther Allison, Magic Sam, Magic Slim, Robert "Junior" Lockwood, Johhny Shines, Robert Cray, Freddie King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Canned Heat, original Fleetwood Mac, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard, The Nighthawks, Ry Cooder, Sonny Landreth, Sonny Boy Williamson I (John Lee Williamson), Sonny Boy Williamson II (Rice Miller), Billy Boy Arnold, Roomful of Blues,
Johnny "Clyde" Copeland, RL Burnside, Junior Kimborough, Sugar Ray & The Bluetones, Hound Dog Taylor, Rusty Zinn, Little Charlie & The Nightcats, North Mississippi Allstars, Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers, James Harman, Kid Ramos, Lynwood Slim, Pee Wee Crayton, Elmore James, Hollywood Fats Band, John Hammond, Jr., T-Bone Walker, John Lee Hooker, Paul Butterfield Blues band...
That's a good start for awhile. Also, the Chess Blues 4-CD boxed set is excellent. )-(

You like Modern blues or more old old old school blues?
Look up players like Muddy Waters, Jeff Healey, Stevie Ray Raughan, BB King.

Although, the previous posts got your covered for centuries.
