I have to admit- I'm sold on re-amping!

Some of you may remember I posted a few weeks ago that I was re-amping bass tracks for the first time. I must say that it is quite awesome. I still feel like it's cheating in a way, but being able to sit in the studio with my bass tracks on loop and keep moving microphones, hooking up multiple head/cab combos with multiple types of mics and choosing the best sounds was pretty awesome!

We'll be recording a full length soon, I can't wait to do it again.

It ain't cheatin' it's all about using available technology and techniques. It's only a cheat of you time or pitch correct.

word.

your playing stays the same. all that changes is the gear that is available to you. if you record tracks in a demo studio and then mix it in a big one.. same story. you didnt have an SSL 9000j to mix through before, now you do, and you get SSL sound. so rather than tracking a dinky ampeg b100 or something, you can borrow someone's b15 and make your track sing. as an audio engineer, i see no issue. virtual amps, though i do use them on occasion, are much closer to cheating.
