List major (and not so major) artists whose songs you like but whose albums you've never bought.

I have never owned:

Anything by Nirvana
Anything by Ringo Starr
Anything by Andy Summers or Stewart Copeland that didn't include Sting
Anything by Burt Bacharach (Yeah, I like schmaltz)

Your turn...

I always think it's really strange when bassists/drummers say they hate rap. A lot of it ISN'T just sampled James Brown, and a GOOD MC phrases very interesting rhythmic patterns.

Have you heard any non mainstream rap? I've made this comparison before: When you turn on the radio, is that the best example of rock? Nickelback?!? I bet there are tons of rap fans who refuse to listen to rock, because they think that's what Nickelback is. 50 Cent is the Nickelback of rap.

BB-
IMO, you should (at least) check out a couple of Andy Summers' 'solo' efforts-
World Gone Strange (great players as the 'backing band'...Eliane Elias, Victor Bailey, Tomy Levin, etc).
The Last Dance of Mr. X (Jazz Classic tune-age done in an electric trio setting).
Green Chimneys (Summers' Monk tribute w/Dave Carpenter on bass...a pretty happenin' doubler that rarely, if ever, gets any props here at TB).

As far as Bacharach goes...he's a serious Pop composer. Key word: "Composer". Big diff between guys like him & what we hear nowadaze, IMHO.
Maybe it's me...a great tune like The Stylistics' "People Make The World Go Round" has a definite Bacharach influence.

As far as this thread goes-
I have never bought anything by Elton John or Bruce Springsteen.

Many examples, I think, but the one that stands out the most for me is the original release of Pink Floyd's "The Wall". I have the live versions, but never been interested in the original album.
