| | Registered User | | Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: Germany | | | Nice Alembic, it's cool to see that he already did those "BS runs" back then (I don't really know a better term for them, it's done by fast fingering on one string and sliding up and down while doing so you get a bunch of fast successive notes that don't have a real tonal quality to them, they're more like dead notes), he does it at 2:27, for example. I used to think this was a Claypool-ish thing.
Personally, I love this neat little trick, it's great for fills in songs with harmonies that limit your note choice (rock songs with power chords, for example). |

Oh yeah, I don't gain much musical satisfaction from this vid, it's just interesting to hear his playing in the forefront, though it is better in context of a song.
