Just finished tracking drums for a new EP. We were planning on taking a day to record everything....But after this experience, I realized that our previous attempts at recording were rushed.....a lot.

We spent one whole day recording drums. The engineer took 2 or 3 hours to setup drum mics, test everything and move them around depending on what mic sounded good with whatever drum it was on. He ended up moving mics around a lot and we ended up with a very awesome set of drum tones.

Fortunately, our engineer is a bass player so I am really looking forward to tracking bass in the next few weeks.

I Love recording. I get excited every time we decide to start another EP. If only we didnt have to pay so much cash for it.....lol.

Just thought I would share my experience. Anyone else enjoy tracking and everything that goes with it?

Yes. I own a multi-track recorder and nothing beats a laid-back saturday where I can just record.. stuff. Haha I enjoy it! Plus, I have bands come in every few weeks to record and I get a little extra cash to spend haha
