Okay, I am on a mission to dub. I've got fair amount in my collection from artists like Augustus Pablo, Black Uhuru, Sly & Robbie and Family Man Barrett. Can anyone suggest some must own type of stuff? Listening to a dub album from Bad Brains at the moment, I & I Survived (Dub). It's got a few cool tracks on it. Here's a sample.... Jah Love
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

I've got a little Scratch Perry and just remembered that I also have some dub from Aswad & Niney The Observer. Have to dig that out. Most of the stuff that was suggested is music that I have not heard before. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again....

Also, nobody mentioned Midnite, who are keeping it real moreso than any band in reggae right now. They have a few dub releases.

and of course bill laswell: THE Bill Laswell Pages
these are some more modern offerings.
dub (using the console as an instrument) has grown far beyond
it's roots as b-side mixes to reggae singles for toasters,
but there's nothing like the source. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
