I need some honest opinions!

I'm diving back into some guitar playing, songwriting and recording. I'd appreciate your unmerciful opinions. Mixing on stereo speakers with limited engineering skills and limited knowlege of Cubase. Give me whatever you got.

It's the first song on the page, WASH MY HAIR.

Thanks.

While it's not the kind of stuff I would go out and buy it sounds OK and I really can't find anything to criticise in it. Good fun stuff. So what if it ain't that original, it sounds good. Keep up the good work. Great guitar sound too.

i dug it. It has a kind of 80's throwback feel too it. The talking vocal sections kind of threw me a little bit though. Still, I'd download it and chuck it into my ipod. Musically it's solid. Kind of felt like a mix between Van Halen and David Bowie. In a weird sort of way.

Thanks Maki. The last song that I wrote and recorded (that I never posted but probably should), people told me they hear a Bowie influence. Strange to me as I don't hear it in either.

That's all the comments I get in an entire day? C'mon boys and girls.

The first track sounds like i'm listening to a semi-ok quality Phish bootleg. I'm not sure that's a compliment, but it definitely wasn't meant to be derogatory. Overall, It's not bad for what you have to work with, and I'm sure you could put a good engineering polish on it if you had a more vast knowledge of cubase. Overall, a pretty good start for just messing around recording.

I think it's pretty cool, catchy tune.
Definitely an early 80's vibe, but I don't get a Bowie feel, more "The Knack" with more chords if I had to use a recognized band for comparison, but certainly original.

Good job! Keep up the good work.

i didn't like it. any kind of "rock" song that involves chromatic movements, or riffs involving chromaticism, immediately invokes thoughts of bargain priced dvds titled "shredding for beginners". the whole thing sounded pretty sophomoric and uninspired.

not trying to be a dick, just my honest opinion. if it sounds good to you, and you like what you're doing, keep it up.
