I shot the sheriff - marley

I shot the sheriff- bob marley... Think this is the best best bass / drum line ever recorded. The last 20 seconds, after the organ and guitar fade out, are so funky I can't help but dance a little (yeah even my white a**). Carlton and Aston Barrett the best drum bass duo ever? Thoughts? Lemme know if there's already a thread on this subject.... On vaca with iPad and search function is not the best.

It's a great line, no doubt. I've wondered for years why Nate East didn't cop it for Clapton's version... ?

Probably because they didn't want to do a reggae version.

Great riddim, and yes, The Barrett brothers were one of the very greatest rhythm sections to ever hit the stage and recording studio.

But this is only one of many 'best' they recorded, thankfully. They are responsible for so many great riddims it's scary.
