I'd love your opinion.

Ok, so my new project Nicolette Paige & the Irie's just wrapped up in the studio and now we are slowly getting the new material up on the site. I'd like your opinion(s) on the newest track up called "Vanishing Cars" Any and all input is welcome. I'm not fragile so just lay it on me honestly. Thanks.

Nick

Well, it's got that Liz Phair/Sheryl Crow (on the mellow side) vibe down, but it's really melancholy. I listened to a few cuts, all really melancholy. There's a market for this style, for sure. 420 friendly. Nice bass line on "Vanishing Cars" BTW.

Thanks electra. She writes all of the lyrics and changes, and I create lines from there. I know what you mean about the melancholy feel, but we're working on a few other pieces that are significantly brighter and more up-tempo. Thanks again for your input.

I don't really dig this style music, but the Bassline is really cool on Vanishing Cars.. Do you use flatwounds? I love the tone, whats your setup? I bet you have fun, the music is pretty simple and leaves a lot of improvising capabilities for you.

Thanks for the tone comment, I'm diggin' it too. Yeah, I use heavy Roto Flats w/ a Mexi Jazz and medium high action. Ampeg amplification. You nailed it right on the head my friend. It is Simple, lots o room for expression, makes people feel good and move.

Thanks again,
Nick

Really great stuff for this hangover I have. Real mellow laid back vibe that you guys pretty much nail. Good stuff.

Thanks amigo. This is my first foray into such things so the support really helps.
