Say a good genie gave you a magic VIP ticket that would instantly transport you to any gig you wished, at any point in time. You would get the best place in the house, spend some time with the band before and after the show, the whole fanboy experience. What would it be? The Beattles playing at The Cavern Club? Jimi Hendrix at Wookstock? The Funk Brothers? Black Sabbath? Weather Report? Re-live your first gig experience? |

That was the first rock record I ever heard and it warped me for life. I'd love to see that live performance. |

second choice: I'd like to see some classical from when it was pop. Can't pick a gig for obvious reasons.

No need for a time machine there, but if I had one I would probably go see Genesis during their first tour ever, when they went into debt to bring their concept to the world....purest, rawest Genesis. |

My wife got to see Page & Plant on the Unledded/No Quarter tour in '94 or '95, before we met. I have the concert video at least. BTW, the video is GREAT. Nearly perfect, except they didn't call JPJ out to play. I believe one of the reasons was that Plant wanted Charlie Jones, his son-in-law (I think that's his name), to play bass instead. He was really good on bass though. But they should have shown JPJ some respect and at least asked if he wanted to do the project. After all, nearly every song they did was a Zeppelin song, and probably JPJ-created bass lines.
You can see JPJ briefly in the 1984 Paul McCartney movie, "Give My Regards To Broadstreet". It's a zany movie, reminiscent of those early Beatles flicks (OK, not QUITE as zany as those, but still zany), and you get to see Paul, Linda, Ringo and others doing some good Wings music, maybe a couple of Beatles songs too (I'll have to watch it again, been a long time). JPJ plays bass on one song called "Ballroom Dancing".
