REMIXED: A little more bass in yo face. Rough finding a balance of having the bass up front without dominating the song. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks.
Been playing for a lot of people over the past decade and I always do what's best for the band and the song. Gettin tired of that so this is my first venture into cutting loose a bit...
just cracking the door open here. Want in my writing to start putting the bass where it should be - right up front.
Feel free to comment, and thanks for listening.
It's the first track "Faik" on my page listed right below and right here www.myspace.com/joenervebass .

I have some of the same frustrations my own self. One can only play "Blue Moon" about 500 times before it messes with one's head. I started doing an oddball solo project but never followed through with gigs or anything. I think I might now after hearing what you did. |

IMHO, of course! |

I'm planning a solo gig for the end of the summer. It's something I feel I need to do at least once, everything my way - and I'll pay whoever doesn't want to do it my way.
Any input on the mix? Everything seems to have changed once I put it on myspace , and I'm only hearing it on my computer so I'd love some others input. |

Ya'll aren't the most supportive group of people... 6 comments in 3 days... I gotta admit that sometimes I get a little bummed out at this place. It was a lot different when it all began... yep, yep, yep.... ahhhh.... yep. Yeah. Ahhhh... whatever. I don't listen to any of your music either. Gonna start now. |

Faik sounds like it belongs on a movie sound track.
With my computer/speakers, bass seems to need some more mids, imho.
To me it sounds like there's too much "musical space" between the bass and the rest of the song.
Some serious talent there.
Do it for yourself.
Keep on keepin' on.

PS. I never used a freaking effect in my life before this - and I kinda like it. Maybe that's why I don't use effects. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
