I've been meaning to make a post about the new Matt Nathanson record that I'm on but I didn't want to post all the songs online for free out of respect for Matt. So our new single Car Crash is the featured free download for this week. Check it out. I'm just playing a Precision into a Country man DI into a Neve board but there is also a RE20 mic on an Eden 410 with an Ashdown EVO 500 (cranked up) as a head.
I'm pretty happy with the sound but it kind of freaked me out at first that the bass is so loud in the mix.
Here is a link that should open the link to the song in iTunes if you have it. |

It belongs to Matt's co-writer and co-producer. I had to fly basses out to L.A. to record and I didn't want to bring my 1964 precision unless I needed to use it. So that was the Precision for the session. I brought a jazz bass and a Lakland hollow body and also borrowed a Mustang bass.
Here is a pic of me with it '57 reissue. |
