Ok, I just went out and bought Opeth's Damnation. I don't see how this could be considered metal at all.

I was expecting some serious heavy trash. Blast beats, gutteral vocals, etc. This I could go to sleep to. I like it, but not what I was expecting at all.

It isn't really a metal album. I don't know what you'd call it, easy listening? haha

That was their acoustic album. I don't think they've ever don blast beats...but the gutteral stuff abounds. If you want me to send you some samples off of Deliverance, just shoot me a PM .

Y'know, Stachio, you shoulda told me you was a metal head at the ATL GtG last year. I feel like kinda an idiot doing the phonetic "how to" on DEP basslines, thinkin you weren't that into metal, so you might need the aural help. Silly me.

I swear, I'm not that big a dork, nor that weenie a metalhead. But y'should have TOLD me you were into metal so I wouldn'ta made a doofus of myself.

No problem. I didn't have the 6 inch goatee to confirm my status. I also thought that whipping out some rotational headbanging a la Corpsegrinder, would be inappropriate over Gard and Bassmonkee's jam session .
Plus, I was under the impression that the metalhead quota was set at 1.
We'll set it straight next time .

Check out Darkest Hour, they have some pretty mellow stuff along with really hardcore stuff. Great band though.
