Hey guys,
My bands is in the studio ATM and I'm due to record that bass sometime next week and this particular song has been annoying me for a long time. I can't decide on exactly what to play and was hoping a few of you on talkbass wouldn't mind laying down some ideas to help inspire me http://soundcloud.com/skott/innocence-1
So all I'm really stuck on is the chorus, the verse and outro just stick with the rhythm guitar pretty closely. However if you want to record a full song of idea then feel free.
This is all unmixed and alot of the tracks (including vox) are just temps, but you get the idea. Also no bass on this recording. Hopefully I made the song downloadable.
Oh also second chorus has got some other tracks in there which make it sound a bit off, all this will be cleaned up later but for now you can assume that its exactly the same as the first chorus.
Thanks for any other input you might have aswell.
Basic chord structure (i think lol)
Verse: Bm - G - F#m - G
Chorus: F#m - E
'Outro' Verse: F#m - C#m - A - G#m

My problem is I was doing a sort of melodic line through the chorus that everyone in the band (including myself) grew to hate. Problem is every time I hear the song I can't think of anything else now because I played it that way for so long.

At the end I changed up the chorus, because the verse changed, so why not? For the very end, I did some strange harmonics to go with the drum fill, because I felt like it.

thanks for the ideas guys, i did like the octave up slide you put in the chorus... i might work on something like that. I think both of you were most creative through the verse, which is the part I was least interested in . I'm already pretty set on what I've got for that - as far as the chorus goes nothing really sits well with me yet. Thanks again tho for taking the time to record something for me, also I'm glad you like the song b4nny
If anyone else would like to contribute go for it, hell I'll even give you a shout out on the album sleeve if I use your idea

Yeah, I play a little bass too. I could tell what you were doing there. You were playing some major and minor scales. I was watching your hands.

Here is the notation.
Edit: Wow, mine is pretty similar to heroincredible's.
