IMPORTANT example of an important bass principle!

You'll never play with any "groove", "feel" or "pocket" unless you "lock in" with the bass drum and make every note you play coincide exactly with the kick. If you play any note where the kick drum does not, or miss playing a note where the kick sounds, you're a totally inadequate bassist and have no business playing at all.
