rotate your left wrist so that the edge of your palm is perpendicular to the edge of the fretboard, then try getting your pinky involved in some of those ideas

lookin good so far,

Try to not hang out in the same octave quite so much when you solo though, the low B is nice, but some runs in the middle frequencies might add a good bit to your sound, especially when you're on a single chord. (Obviously it's hard to learn to move up and down the neck while improving, but you'll get there.)

By the way I like the riff at 1:04 in the second link.

thanks for all the advice and stuff

and about my pinky: it gives me the feeling it just doesn't want to work, every time i try to use my pinky it results in epic fail. i might try the palm thingy
