Those of you who may remember might have remembered me inquring about a band called Konzaross, composed of one person and a bass guitar from Egypt.
Anyways, the person behind it is Khaled Sallam, and most of the demo album is him playing a melodic style of bass with a dark ambient background, and on the first track, he whispers something I can't quite hear. Anyways, it's different, and though Khaled calls it melodic dark metal, many people might feel more comfortable calling it melodic dark ambient, but either way, it's worth a listen if you want to hear something different. If I were to make a comparison, it might sound something like Jason Newstead meets Steve Harris playing a solo bass album with the attitude of an extremely depressed Billy Korgan. If I have any bad vibes from the album, most of it is due to the fact that it is a demo album, and some of the effects sound somewhat tinny (especially the bell in the first track), but I think he has a fantastic start to his own niche of music.
