It's Getting Late (and I'm Starting to Show Off)

Been working on this song for ages. I originally wrote it in 2007, done a cheap bedroom recording back then.

Spent the last 6 months on and off recording and mixing it at uni. Finally finished and I wanted to share it with the world!

Feel free to download from:

HERE

I went for a different approach when recording the bass as I would normally. I've used more as a supporting the guitars instrument rather than a fat low sync with the kick instrument. Hopefully this comes through in the mix!

Please feel free to offer constructive criticisms!

Sounds killer! I'd boost the bass up a bit, but that's just me, I love hearing a lot of bass!
Did you play everything yourself?

Thumbs up!

this is a real neat track, for sure. but yea, bass needs to come up a fair amount.

I Wish!

I Played bass and some guitar parts. The credits for the other musicians are beneath!

As a bassist I'm always conscious of mixing low frequencies. It's often guess work when working without a sub. I guess this track epitomizes that.

It's not so much that the bass is too low in the mix, rather that the whole track's final mix seems a bit bass shy.

Nice stuff, really clean mix otherwise.
