It's that time of year again: Christmas Music

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, I've never actually posted any recordings on Talkbass, but one of the groups I play with threw this together last night as a single for Christmas giveaway/promo. I think it turned out pretty well.

I'm playing my G&L L2000 w/ DR Hi-beams --> Way Huge Pork Loin --> Avalon U5 --> Protools HD

Comments and constructive criticism welcome! I've primarily been a folk/bluegrass/indie player up until joining this band.

The singer's site is www.ryaninnes.com. You can download the track "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" at this link to my mediafire upload.

Dude that is wicked awesome.

I have to say though when I saw the title I was kind of hoping for the classical version on bass, which sounds pretty damn good.

Do you own the rights to this song?
If so may I share it with a few friends?

I don't own the rights, so to speak (I think it's public domain.) It's freely available however if they download it from the artist's page... I don't have a problem with you sharing it as long as you don't sell it.

Was interested in your bass and came across this - nicely done - love the rendition and congrats on selling the L2000. Slowly falling in love with this bass after playing one today.

Thanks a lot. I have a mahogany semi-hollow asat in addition to the L2k, and it's much more valuable to me (I bought it as new-old-stock.) I intend on always having a bass with the G&L electronics in the quiver from here on out. I'm sure you will too when get one of your own to run through it's paces and play with a band.

With G&L, I would encourage you to buy used and in person, if at all possible. If it's not possible to inspect the instrument, make sure you're buying from someone with a stellar feedback rating for being honest and knows their stuff. I have had some ridiculous situations come across with G&L necks. The one I have is under warranty for another 8 years, and has already had a new neck because of dips and ramps.
