I'm looking for movie soundtrack CD's. IMO, "That's The Way of the World" by E,W,&F, "Purple Rain" by Prince, and "Shaft" by Issac Hayes set the bar REALLY high.

| | | You know...what movie used That's The Way Of The World? I need to see it.
You mention Shaft...I gotta mention Curtis Mayfields' Superfly. Hair...I need to get this. What version is "the better"? Jesus Christ Superstar(BOTH the "Original Cast" w/ Deep Purple's Ian Gillan & the soundtrack versions). Death Wish-Herbie Hancock Saturday Night Fever-Various
I also like the soundtrack to Forrest Gump...a nice selection of '60s/'70s Pop(IMO) that totally works for this movie. Fact is...everytime I hear one of these tunes, I can recall just about where in the movie it was used.
"For What It's Worth"?
"Love Her Madly"?

I'd like to offer up the soundtrack to the movie "Whale Music". Canadian mind-rockers The Rheostatics produced some really great gems for this one.

Also, "Buffalo 66". "Heart of the Sunrise", by YES, and songs by Vincent Gallo.

Saturday Night Fever- Okay, it was the album that really corporatized the Disco movement but it was a great album for it's time. Hasn't held up as well as maybe it should.

I also really love the song in requiem for a dream, which was also used in the preview for lord of the rings |

Favorite Rock soundtrack- the stuff did for "Highlander" is great.
Personally, I like the soundtrack to "Slaughterhouse Five." Of course, it's Glenn Gould playing Bach, so how bad can it be? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
