Jaco Pastorius Rare Collection - collectible ??

My wife got pretty creative this Christmas and, amongst other things, got me this CD, JAMS - Jaco Pastorius Rare Collection and the Bill Milkowski Jaco bio. I am aware of much of the commonly available Jaco recordings, but had never heard of these. I am certainly a fan of Jaco, but not obsessed, so I don't chase every possible version of his recorded work. I'd have to say thought that all the tracks are pretty cool and offer a bit different take on Jaco's chops and groove-ability in a non-Weather Report or Pat Metheny setting. Well worth a listen.

I have not cracked the Jaco bio yet (it's the anniversary edition), but I did see a few comments here about how good it was so I'm looking forward to reading it.

Any one else here familiar with the CD ? The wife suggested that she paid a fairly serious price for it, and I am wondering if it's a collectible thing or somehow valuable for being "rare" or what ?
I'm not a collector type myself, so am largely clueless about these things.

Anyone have any idea on this ?

Nice wife! I've had my 'Rare Collection' CD for a few years and I didn't pay what they are going for now.....pretty steep!
It's a nice collection of Jaco with other artist and some of the songs have been out of print for awhile. The Flora Purim came back in print last year after a long absence.
It's a lot better than those boots that are going around, Jaco was lucid when he did these recordings. Your wife did good!!!
