James Gang Rides Again!

My band is covering side one of this album so I have been listening to it non stop here lately. These dudes were on point man. Does anyone else dig this as much as I do?

Pity that Joe Walsh ended up in the Eagles... sorry Eagles fans. Not intended to be a flame comment.

The James Gang is one of the tastiest power trios that ever was. Check out the Live at Carnagie Hall CD. One of the greatest live records ever.

I will definately check that out. I had only really heard Funk 49 prior to this little project... and needless to say, I was blown away when introduced to the rest of the catalogue.

We are a 4 piece so we have the luxury of harmonies and stuff with guitars. "Ashtonpark" is the killer on this album for us. I will try to get a recording of it on here at some point. As you know, the guitar is delayed on the recording... but my guitarists do delayed harmony. It's really ridiculous how awesome it sounds with two guitars!

YEAH! I use to hate Joe Walsh because he was one of the Eagles, and didn't even want to give James Gang a chance, I grew up a little, still hate the Eagles, but damn James Gang kicks ass.

That's my high school music! In the early 70s, I spent many a happy hour cruising around the Maryland countryside in my buddy's giant Olds (400+ c.i.) with that album blasting on his 8-track player!
Good times! Nice choice for your band.

Joe Walsh is a very musical dude. Love his soloing and his quirky vocal style. He's fun to watch and those tunes are just good Rock & Roll.

I think I heard he is touring again with the James Gang. Anyone else hear that?

As far as the Eagles go, love em or hate em, one of the most talented groups ever. Polished and professional as it gets, especially live. Great singing and playing, whether you love the songs is another issue, Walsh added a lot to that group.

Also check out "Barn Storming" his solo effort right after the James Gang. Great stuff.

I agree that the Eagles are a great band... you can't argue that. I personally don't like most of their songs and have been overplayed for so long.

James Gang is ultimate classic rock. I will check and see if they are touring again and get back here... I bet I could convice the guys to go on a little fieldtrip courtesy of the band account if this is true!

I agree- james gang > everyone

So great that my band decided to name a song after the album. Our song is called Rides Again... how ironic. To bad it does the James Gang no justice
