If you didn't catch it, you can watch the full stream of JK and band at the Jazz Café as part of the BBCi Electricproms season. Squarepusher also did a session. Head over to:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/electricproms

Absolutely amazing! I have a DVD recording of the JK performance which I'm ripping later to audio format for keeps. I'll upload and post a link for mp3 downloads if anyone is interested? I'm trying to get the Squarepusher one too... no luck yet though!

There's also loads of other bands too. UK viewers can watch them by pressing the 'RED' button if you have Cable etc.

I have DVD recorder hooked up to the TV instead of a VHS. I'll be ripping the audio today. Did it once but got an annoying glitch in the middle of it when the computer went processor crazy and stalled the DVD. I'm using Wiretap to record the audio in realtime - works out much quicker and simpler than doing a straight rip from MacTheRipper, then a conversion with FFmpegx and then a further edit with Sounstudio and then a final conversion to mp3 etc! !Phew!

I'll be emailing this file using yousendit.com, the downloadable link will be available for 25 downloads or 7 days. If other people do the same thing with the file you could make it available to a lot more people for a lot longer, and it's quicker than torrenting - a lot quicker!

I watched it on BBC TV (Digital Interactive) - no problems with missing it, as they looped it and made it available for several days!

No need for any of that techie stuff!

I liked the arrangement of "Use the Force" and the band played pretty well on that one - but I think they are not as good as they used to be - not a "vintage" performance and Jay's voice sounded pretty rough on a lot of numbers!!

Much better from my point of view was the Jazz part of the electric proms - which had some truly great players thrown together first as duos and then as a sextet - I listened on Digital Radio on Friday Night - live on Radio 3 - but it's available on the BBC website to view :
