For those who have been inquiring about my next CD featuring my Sub Contra bass, this is a track that didn't make it onto my upcoming CD titled Trioplicty that features drummer Bernard Purdie and guitarist Kudzai Kasambira.

Sonically much clearer than on your previous project. I'm feeling that groove! And you can't go wrong with 'Pretty' Purdie on the skins! |

The more and more music that is recorded with a sub contra bass, maybe we will see it come into mainstream music. Then I will be able to buy strings, and not have to play tuba parts an octave up. (sorry, winds band bass player whining) |

Sonically this recording is more open because it's only one guitar, on TLC#T I wanted to show how the Sub Contra bass can move through two crazy guitarists and still make the point that I set out to make. The man's got an incredible sense of refinement in his playing.
So light, fresh and powerful at the same time. |

Me and Bernard have had the chance to play with each other on a few occassions before we recorded together and it was those encounters that allowed us the inpiration to finally make the time to record a CD together. |

Oh, and the bass sounds really good, too! That particular segment didn't have too much sub bass stuff, right? Pretty much 5 string-ish territory? I just want to make sure my ears aren't playing tricks on me. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
