Jazz is Dead

For those of you who haven't heard, you should. Especially if you want to hear some of the most incredible playing and awesome tone.

O.K., before anybody freaks out on me, Jazz is Dead was the name of the band. IMO, every albumn they put out kicked serious @ss! They took many Greatful Dead tunes and played them in a remarkable fusion style.

Alphonso Johnson played bass and he is incredible! For those of you who want to hear some great, tasty tunes, and amazing basslines, you need to check them out. And believe me, you don't need to be into the Greatful Dead to enjoy this music.

I would say get Blue Light Rain if you could find it. Their CD's are scarce, but any one of them would be a great choice.

Anyway, are there any other fans here?

Yeah I agree with ya man. All their albums are good. I've actually caught them live a few times. Live is WAY better than their albums. Always a good show. Really tight ripping musicians.

Don't forget T Lavitz, one of my favorite keyboard players. He's such a great B3 player.
